WHO ARE THE GLOBAL SHAPERS?
WE ARE A NETWORK OF YOUNG PEOPLE DRIVING DIALOGUE, ACTION, AND CHANGE IN THEIR CITY.
Founded in 2011, the Global Shapers Community is a network led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities.
The Global Shapers Community has non-profit “Hubs” in 8 major Canadian cities, in all 50 American States, and in 386 cities around the world. The Community is a platform that enables its members to pursue their own projects and collaborate on others’, in a way that amplifies their impact and supports the city they reside. Comprised of a network of young professionals all under the age of 30 – we encourage the creation of dialogue, incite action, and support social change. Through the Global Shapers Community, we are given opportunities to connect with other Shapers around the world including fellow WEF communities, while representing the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events.
We acknowledge the land we are meeting on is the traditional territory of many nations
including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the
Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First
Nations, Inuit and Métis. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13
with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
